The terms of using ZapTale

Last updated: September 28, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and ZapTale. By creating an account or using ZapTale, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use ZapTale.

  1. Who can use ZapTale

You must be at least 18 years old to use ZapTale.

  2. Your account

Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at admin@zaptale.com if you think someone else has used it.

  3. Your photos stay yours

You own the photos, captions, and other content you add to ZapTale. You give ZapTale a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, resize, analyze (including with AI services), and display that content, only to run ZapTale for you and to show your books to the people you share them with. The license ends when you delete the content, except for copies that take a short time to clear from our systems.

  4. What you are responsible for

Only upload content you have the right to use, and respect the people in your photos. Do not use ZapTale for anything illegal, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, harassing, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.

  5. AI curation and captions

ZapTale uses automated tools, including AI, to choose photos, arrange pages, and suggest titles and captions. They can be wrong, incomplete, or not to your taste. Review your book before you share it; you are responsible for what you share or publish.

  6. Sharing your books

Anyone who has a book’s share link can view that book, and they can pass the link on. Share it only with people you trust. Once a book has been viewed, we cannot stop someone from saving or screenshotting what they saw.

  7. Subscriptions and payments

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices; a new price applies from your next billing period.

  8. Using ZapTale fairly

Do not copy, scrape, or resell ZapTale, reverse engineer it, get around its limits or security, overload it, or use it to build a competing service. The ZapTale name, logo, design, and software belong to ZapTale.

  9. Other services

ZapTale relies on services from other companies, such as Google Photos, OpenAI, Google Cloud, Stripe, and our hosting providers. Your use of those services is covered by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

  10. Ending your account

You can stop using ZapTale at any time. To have your account and all of its data deleted, email admin@zaptale.com. We may suspend or end your account, or stop offering all or part of ZapTale, at any time. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.

  11. ZapTale is not a backup

Always keep your original photos. ZapTale is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that ZapTale will always be available or error-free, or that your content will never be lost. Deleting a book deletes its photos for good.

  12. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ZapTale will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill.

  13. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on ZapTale infringes your copyright, email admin@zaptale.com with the content’s link, the work you own, and your contact details. We will remove infringing content and may end the accounts of repeat infringers.

  14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and ZapTale agree to their jurisdiction.

  15. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms at any time, without advance notice. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on this page, and the date at the top shows when they were last updated. By continuing to use ZapTale after a change, you accept the updated terms.
